Elaine izod
Elaine was an extremely talented, creative, stylish and well-loved member of our group. Her individual style wove throughout her everyday life, in her home, garden and art work and underpinned her love of an uncluttered and pared-back colour scheme with an added splash of inspirational eye catching detail.

Her passion and thirst for learning new skills is self-evident from her numerous achievements. This knowledge translated through her drawing skills and she produced wonderful sketchbooks, pastel works and a wide range of stitched abstract textiles. She also had a great sense of humour which she translated onto some of her stitched pieces of work.
She was well-travelled in her early life, with a short time as an au pair in Germany, and later on, alongside Peter her husband, to whom she was married for 54 years, they enjoyed exploring Europe and beyond. Their love of art and culture led them more recently to some more interesting places and the stories she recounted left you wanting to follow in their footsteps. Art was extremely important to Elaine and she belonged to many societies and exhibiting textile groups with whom she regularly exhibited. She loved a close looming deadline which she always said heightened her creative skills allowing her to perfectly illustrate the essence of whatever was the current theme. Elaine will be very much missed by the members of Diversity with whom she worked closely with over many years. |
